Bracken Cottage Self Catering Oban is a private secluded cottage just outside of Oban in Argyll.  Set in mature gardens that bloom all year round to delight any keen horticulturist or nature lover. Daffodils, bluebells, bracken, pine trees and birch woods which provide homes to a pair of red squirrels and pine marten. Enjoy the privacy and tranquility of this hidden gem whilst being conveniently located for the isles of the Inner Hebrides.

Furnished and decorated to a high standard with every detail thought of to make your stay luxurious, comfortable and inspirational. A cosy living room with plush sofas and a dining table for four. Complete with open fire for cooler nights and bright airy french windows for sunnier evenings that open out onto a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the aromas and sounds of the mature gardens.

Fresh clean ensuite double room and twin bedroom make it ideal for families. Cushions, plants, candles, cotton towels all those little touches that mean you can travel light and are fully catered for.

Things to see and do near Bracken Cottage Self Catering Oban

Bracken Cottage is south of Oban, close to the shores of Loch Feochan, a sea loch which is home to abundant wildlife, particularly perfect for birdwatching. Nearby in Lerags Glen there is a popular country pub, offering fine home cooked food and ales with informal music nights during the summer. Venturing further south, within a 20-minute drive and accessed over the ’Bridge over the Atlantic’, is the Isle of Seil and the historic slate mining village on Easdale Island, with boat trips, cafés, country museums and pubs.

Oban is only two miles away and offers many independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Relax and enjoy the sounds and smells of mature pine and red squirrels.

If travelling from Oban – drive south following the A816 signed Lochgilphead. Continue for 2 miles, ignoring sign for Lerags on right. As the road begins to descend, look for our sign on the left – sharp turn!

From Lochgilphead, follow A816 to Oban, through Kilmore. 300 metres past the little church on the right, look for our sign on the right – also a sharp turn!

Tariff 2025/2026

All bookings are taken WEEKLY – Saturday – Saturday

Low Season (Nov to Mar inclusive excluding Christmas and New Year) – £440.00 per week

Early Season (April) – £495.00 per week

Mid Season (May/June/Sept/Oct, excluding Bank Holidays) – £695.00 per week

Peak Season (July/August & Bank Holidays) – £795.00 per week

Short Breaks: minimum 3 nights (not Peak Season. Otherwise contact us for availability) – £120.00 per night

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR BREAKS: minimum 3 nights – £160.00 per night, please contact for further details.

Deposit: £100.00 per week booked (non-refundable in the event of cancellation).
Please note: a written confirmation is required to secure your reservation.

Payment: By cash or personal cheque, payable to me, Susana Garland, no later than 4 weeks prior to arrival. Sorry but we are too small to accept credit cards.

Cancellation:
if you cancel your reservation 4 weeks or less prior to arrival, full monies will be retained. We will, of course, make every effort to re-let the accommodation and, if successful, will reimburse you, less the cost of any expenses incurred.
