Self Catering Cottage in a picturesque rural location, overlooking Marwick Bay
Corkaquina Cottage Orkney, situated in a peaceful rural location overlooking Marwick Bay, is a fully restored 19th century historic cottage.Set in beautiful private grounds of “natural” grassland providing a valuable habitat and breeding ground for a variety of wildlife. Nearby are The Loons and Marwick Head RSPB bird reserves.
Accommodation
The cottage has been restored with meticulous attention to detail, retaining the original stone walls and traditional flagstone roofing. Internally the exposed roof timbers, stone chimney and flagstone flooring ensure a charm and relaxing ambiance only found in an historic cottage. The cosy under floor central heating ensures you are kept warm during your stay. The two bedroom cottage is ideal to slepp 2-4 people.
The heart of the cottage is the comfortable living area, dining area and fitted kitchen. A picture window lets you savour the magnificent skies and magical sunsets over Marwick bay. In the “ben end” there is a double bedroom. A second bedroom with two bunk beds, and a shower room completes the accommodation.
The outhouse provides a washroom with automatic washing machine and a store for bikes, walking or fishing gear etc. The cottage is equipped with Broadband Wi-Fi, DVD and Hi Fi with ipod dock. An Orkney welcome pack awaits you on arrival.

Corkaquina Cottage Orkney Terms and Conditions
General
The rates are per property and are fully inclusive of electricity, heating, bed linen, towels, baby equipment and cleaning materials etc.
Minimum Stay
A complimentary Orkney welcome pack is provided.
Minimum stay is three nights.
Reservations
All reservations are confirmed with a 30% non- refundable deposit.
The balance is to be paid at least 6 weeks before your arrival.
If booking falls within 30 days of intended date of arrival, payment in full should be enclosed with confirmation of booking.
Please make payment to Mrs G Moar at the address below. Payment can be by cheque or by bank transfer.
Arrival/Departure Times
Cottages will be available from 3pm on arrival day until 10am on day of departure. Alternative times by arrangement.
Cancellations
If you have to cancel your reservation before the balance is due, please contact us immediately and if we can re-let cottage we will refund you.
Pets
Sorry, no pets are allowed in the accommodation.

Things To Do
Relax or take a leisurely walk around the shore, and visit the old fishermen’s huts of days gone by. Or take the cliff top walk to Kitcheners Memorial to study the bird life and maybe even spot a puffin.
Visit www.birsay.org.uk to see the many places of interest to explore in Birsay – the ancient capital of Orkney. Slightly further afield Skara Brae, the World Heritage Site, and Stromness are well worth a visit. The local shop is just one mile away and Dounby village only five. A number of local pubs and eateries are within a short drive.
