Portsonachan Self Catering Lodges & Apartments situated in the grounds of Portsonachan Hotel are a series of 9 Self Catering Traditional Log Cabins also called wooden lodges, which can accommodate up to 6 people. All lodges are built in the beautiful grounds of this stunning location. Perfect for holidaying with friends and/or family these log cabins offer an ideal escape from busy city life. We have a bar and restaurant on site, along with a conservatory and terrace with panoramic views of Loch Awe and Ben Cruachan.  Dog friendly available on request – prices on request.

Our lodges are fully furnished with everything you will need on your “home from home” holiday including fully fitted kitchen, heating,full linen and towels.

3 Bed Loch Awe Lodges​​

Our beautiful Loch Awe lodges and traditional log cabins are ideal for those who wish to enjoy a rustic retreat.

The new bathrooms and kitchens are state of the art along with all the fixtures and fittings including wine coolers, ice makers and top of the range appliances. There are 3 separate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sauna, large lounge, kitchen with spacious dining area, garden furniture and built in BBQ. The bathrooms are ultra modern and have been beautifully tiled throughout.

The lounge has a flat screen tv along with Satellite channels. All linen, towels and electricity provided in the price.

​They are set in their own private grounds with parking to be enjoyed by friends and family 12 months of the year.

Two Bathrooms

This lodge is a perfect place to escape and enjoy the wonderful wilderness of nature.

These Romantic Lodges can accommodate up to 6 people, however, additional occasional beds may be available on request.

Please note only propriety charcoal can be used on the BBQ which is available from garages and you will need to supply this.

A £500 security deposit will be taken on arrival which is returned on check-out should there be no damage/breakages to the Lodges.

“Just returned from a lovely relaxing stay in a one bedroom lodge. We loved the quiet, calm setting and view from our lodge. Our favourite part of the day was our early morning walks along the loch shore – sunset wasn’t at all bad either. Staff at hotel were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was excellent. There was a lot on offer from the hotel from their excellent eat in, eat on the terrace (with outdoor terrace heaters) or takeaway menu to fishing, boat trips and loads of helpful information about walking in the area. “2 nights, self catering 3 bed lodge with sauna and hot tub……. the food was just excellent. It was fresh vibrant and incredibly well presented. A modern menu for all to enjoy and that we did. The accommodation was absolutely tip top… didn’t even notice there was a TV as it was not needed.. the stunning setting and location which the lodge sits looking over the Loch was just breath taking. The staff were polite friendly and incredibly helpful and catered to our every need. The chef even changed a particular item on the menu which was not available, however his/her excellent knowledge had shown that they were very experienced in their field and delivered fantastic results. The atmosphere of the bar area was perfect. Light music playing in the background, jovial happy guests all around as far as I could tell and a really enjoyable setting in respect of views of the Loch. We had a small issue with the Internet and hot tub which was fixed within 15 mins after reporting. (Thank goodness as having a 13 year old daughter without Internet is not a situation I would like to endure). My only regret is that I did not get the hard working staff a round in. Thank you all so much for your excellent hospitality you have made our weekend perfect.”

Immediately adjacent to the hotel building itself, 10 one-bedroom Stylish Lochside Apartments are located split over two levels. These individual holiday homes are booked on a Self-Catering basis, and come fully furnished with a Double Bedroom and En-Suite Bathroom, upstairs. Downstairs is a shower room/wetroom, Fully Fitted Kitchen, Lounge with French doors leading to a Private Patio with stunning views overlooking, Ben Cruachan and Loch Awe.

“We stayed in one of the lochside apartments with our Chocolate Lab. Benny. It was clean, warm and comfortable. The view of Loch Awe and the mountains was amazing, especially with all the autumn colours. The hotel is very dog friendly and serves lovely food. The staff are hard working and attentive. “This is my second stay, and I love this place. The food in the restaurant is gorgeous. Between us, we tried several different dishes and all were incredible. We brought our dog with us and she was treated like a hotel guest. she fell in love with the barman and it was so lovely to see him come and fuss her as soon as she entered the bar each day.

Our lochside apartment was lovely. Clean, well equipped, an incredible view and warm. You couldnt ask for a better view. The hotel staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I called ahead and asked for a cake to be made for my boyfriends birthday. I was amazed at the cake they made for us!

The location is perfect for exploring, and maps are left in your accommodation to make it easy to plan your day. Our breakfast hamper had plenty to keep us fuelled for the day. Please don’t worry about the peaty water. its perfectly drinkable, and its literally what’s used to make good peaty whiskey! Yes, it’s discoloured, but this is natural water and there is nothing wrong with it. I will come back here again and again, its a perfect stay with wonderful staff. What makes it even better is how dog friendly the hotel is.”

“We arranged a 6-night stay using vouchers we’d purchased, and upgraded to the wheelchair accessible apartment. Accessibility was excellent with a ramp outside, wide doorways and an enormous wet room. The kitchen had everything we needed for the 2 of us. The loch view was a bit limited as the apartment is in the coach house but it was easy to get to the hotel terrace to see the beautiful panorama. It was wonderfully quiet, peaceful and relaxing.There was no problem getting sufficient bottled water from reception, and the continental breakfast was plentiful, even supplying gluten free bread for my wife. I wasn’t well enough to drive home as the end of our stay approached, and the staff were fantastic, arranging an extra 5 nights in suitable accommodation, including organising a change of all linen. When the time came to settle our bill we were astonished at the excellent price that had been arranged for the extra nights. Our stay was everything we could have wanted, and we’re already considering our next dates to holiday there. Thank you to everyone who looked after us!”
