Earl Thorfinn Cottage is situated a 5-minute walk to the town center but still in a quiet  area with free parking at the front of the house, features one double bedroom and a twin bedroom, kitchen and living room and a newly fitted shower room/ bathroom. There are a large variety of coffee shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby and it’s only a few minutes’ walk to “William Shearer’s” which offers a huge variety of whole foods, locally baked bread, cakes, milk and fresh “Orkney” fish and meat.

Excellently located in the centre of Kirkwall, which is the largest town situated in the heart of the Orkney mainland and therefore a fantastic base from which to explore St Magnus Cathedral, Earls Palace, Scapa beach, Highland Park Distilery and also for heading out West to the Neolithic Sites, Skara Brae, Masehowe, Ring of Brodgar or head to the East Mainland and visit the Italian Chapel, Churchill Barriers from the WW2 to name but a few.

Regular boat trips daily from Kirkwall harbour to the outer isles of Orkney, you can explore places such as; Westray, Papa Westray, Eday, Stronsay, Wyre, Shapinsay, Rousay and more.
