Mill Cottage Orkney was originally a small threshing mill, and has been converted into light and modern self catering accommodation with views over the open countryside of the East Mainland.
Insulated to a high standard, with underfloor heating throughout, the cottage offers a comfortable and convenient base for your holiday in Orkney.
Accommodation
The open plan kitchen / dining / sitting room is bright and comfortable with recliner swivel chairs, dining table, side tables, a Freeview TV, DVD player and soundbox. There is also a small wood burning stove.
The fitted kitchen area is equipped with an electric oven and hob, washer dryer, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave oven, iron and ironing board.
The bedroom has a zip-link bed which can be either a 6ft super-king or two 3ft single beds.
The toilet / shower room includes an electric shower and heated towel rail.
Electricity and Wi-Fi usage are included in the rate.
There is ample private parking alongside the cottage, and a lean-to shed at the rear of the cottage offers space to dry walking boots and wet weather clothing, as well as storage for bicycles etc. Guests are welcome to use the surrounding garden space.
Visiting the East Mainland and Exploring Orkney
Mill Cottage is ideal for people who enjoy outdoor activities such as walking and bird watching. The Mull Head Local Nature Reserve is nearby and there are several sandy beaches. Other attractions that are close at hand include the Churchill Barriers and the beautiful Italian Chapel on the island of Lambholm.

Rates: From £455 per week
This rate is for stays of seven days, but shorter breaks may be available (minimum four day stay).

Stayed here at Mill Cottage for a week.
Wonderful renovation, beautifilly decorated, all amentities provided and a lovely welcome pack too.
Not far from Kirkwall, peaceful surroundings and nearby beach.
Excellent base to be.

Stayed here for a week in June 2022. Comfy little cottage with everything you need and more. Owners brilliant and their “welcome pack” extremely generous with Orkney produce which was most welcome. Superb accommodation with beautiful outlook over surrounding countryside. Ideally situated for touring. Davy and Eileen even gave us gorgeous weather !!! Would we come back? You bet!
