An Sonachan SeIf Catering Islay is a recently modernised bungalow situated on the edge of Bowmore with outstanding uninterrupted views of Lochindaal. Spacious, well appointed accommodation sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. Within walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants and the distillery. Our changeover day is flexible with 7 night stay minimum.

An Sonachan Islay self catering accommodation sleeps 6:

- 1 bathroom with bath, shower, and w.c.
- 1 shower room with walk-in shower, and w.c.
- Lounge with open fire (coal and logs supplied), flat screen TV, Freesat, DVD and Wii.
- Large Dining/Kitchen with American style fridge freezer, range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and bread-maker. The Dining and Lounge area are perfect for watching the glorious sunsets from patio windows, which lead out onto decking overlooking the Loch.

- Due to the open aspect of the property, we feel it is unsuitable for young children

Terms & Conditions
Reservations
A deposit of £200 is required to confirm a booking at An Sonachan SeIf Catering. Provisional bookings shall be held for 7 days, and will be confirmed on receipt of the deposit. The rental is due 6 weeks prior to your holiday. Your booking/damage deposit will be returned within 1 week of departure subject to the stated terms and conditions.
Arriving and Departing
We are flexible with our weekly letting, the house will be let for a minimum of 7 nights starting on any mutually agreeable day. Extra nights are charged pro rata. The house will be ready for 15.00 on the day of arrival and we ask that you vacate the house by 10.00 on the day of departure.
Cleaning
The property should be left in the same clean and tidy condition as on arrival. In the unlikely event that the property is left in an inappropriate manner, an additional cleaning surcharge may be incurred. All necessary cleaning products will be supplied. Any damage or breakages should be reported prior to departure in order that these may be rectified for our next guests. In certain circumstances damage and losses may be charged in full.
Young Children
The garden is not enclosed, therefore we feel that the property is unsuitable for small children.
Pets
We are unable to accommodate pets.
Smoking
We have a no smoking policy in the house.
Vehicles/personal property
In Addition to cancellation and curtailment insurance, guests are recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects. Vehicles, accessories and contents are left at their owner’s risk. The proprietor shall not be responsible for any loss or damage or any injury to persons not caused through the fault of the proprietor.
Holiday Protection
To minimize the cost and inconvenience of cancelled bookings, guests are strongly recommended to take out holiday insurance.
Cancellation
If you require to cancel a reservation for any reason we must be notified by telephone or email as soon as possible. In the event of a cancellation, we will make every effort to re-let the property; if we are able to re-let the property, you will be reimbursed the full sum less £25 to cover administration costs. If we are unable to re-let the property, cancellation costs shall be incurred as follows:
More than one calendar month before booking commences your deposit shall be forfeited
Less than one calendar month before booking commences you will be liable to pay the full cost of the rental (your deposit will be returned).
Adverse Travel
Where there are ferry/flight disruptions due to bad weather or any other reason, we cannot be held responsible for late or non arrival at An Sonachan Islay and so no refunds will be provided.

Routes to Islay

How to find An Sonachan Self Catering Accommodation
An Sonachan is located on the shores of Loch Indaal on the outskirts of the village of Bowmore and is just over 5 miles from the airport and about 11 miles from each ferry port.
From the airport. Take the A846 for 5.3 miles to Bowmore. As you enter Bowmore, bear left at the Round Church onto Main St/A846. Take the 2nd right onto Shore St/​A846. Continue on the A846 for 0.5 mile and take the first turning right into a small estate of houses and An Sonachan is immediately on the left hand side on the corner.
From Port Ellen Ferry Port. Take the A846 for 10 miles to Bowmore. As you enter Bowmore, bear left at the Round Church onto Main St/A846. Take the 2nd right onto Shore St/​A846. Continue on the A846 for 0.5 mile and take the first turning right into a small estate of houses and An Sonachan is immediately on the left hand side on the corner.
From Port Askaig Ferry Port. Take the A846 to Bowmore. Keep on this road for 10 miles, through the villages of Kiells, Ballygrant and Bridgend. As you you start to come into Bowmore, go poast the 40 mph limit sign, then the 30mph limit sign and then take the first turning on your left into a small estate of houses and An Sonachan is immediately on the left hand side on the corner.
