Ard Chruaidh Self Catering Islay
Ard Chruaidh Self Catering Islay comes from the old gealic language, meaning bold hill. From this hill you have magnificent views over Loch Indaal. Situated in the centre of the island between Bowmore and Bridgend, Ard Chruaidh is a traditional cottage with a big garden. From the lounge and diningroom you have stunning views over Loch Indaal and from the kitchen you have beautifull views to the hills.
Sit down in the lounge and relax with Freesat Tv, free Wifi Internet, MP 3 Dock and CD/DVD player. There are several CD’s and DVD”s in the cottage. Sleep well in one of the four bedrooms, enjoy cooking in the kitchen and eat in the diningroom.
Walk with low tide the mud-flat / shoal, enjoy the birds and smell the sea. The cottage is just 1,5 miles from Bowmore, with his shopping street, pubs and restaurants. In this capital you also find the Bowmore distillery, Round Church, the Royal Bank of Scotland, a big supermarket and the Post Office. Because Ard Chruaich is located in the centre of Islay it takes no time to discover all the edges of the island.
Go to see the birds at the RSPB near Loch Gruinart or the Oa, enjoy fishing in the ocean or the lakes and rivers, play a round of golf on the beautifull Machrie Golf Links or simply walk along the beaches and over the hills and fields.
If you like history, go to the Museum of Islay Life, Finlaggan, Kildalton Cross or search for standing and carved stones. When you are in for a whisky tour, then Islay is heaven. Eight distillery’s with icons as Laphroaigh, Ardbeg, Bowmore are waiting for you.
The last two years we have renovated the house totally, trying to keep the old cottage atmosphere. With his central heating and a wood stove in the lounge, a new bathroom with bath and separate shower, new kitchen and one ensuite bedroom, the cottage has everything you need for a successful holiday.
