An Grianan Self Catering Islay is a beautifully refurbished self-catering property located in the picturesque village of Port Charlotte Islay.

An Grianan is Gaelic for ‘the sunny spot’ and, when the sun is shining, the garden at An Grianan is a real sun trap. So whether you prefer to relax inside in the Sun Room or enjoy the sea breeze in the garden, you will be able to soak up the beautiful views across Loch Indaal, over to the Mull of Oa and the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte.

 

This semi-detached house is bright and in excellent decorative order with high quality furniture and fittings throughout. With new central heating and a stock of games, books and DVDs to enjoy, you will be cosy and warm whatever time of year you choose to visit this beautiful island.

 

An Grianan is within walking distance of all the excellent amenities of Port Charlotte and within easy reach of everything that Islay has to offer, making it an ideal base for you to explore the island from.

 

Facilities 

An Grianan self catering is decorated and furnished to a high standard. It provides bright, warm and comfortable accommodation and sleeps up to 6 people.

 

Accommodation on the ground floor comprises:

Lounge / Sitting Room – leather sofas, electric fire within a marble fireplace and large flat screen TV with Freesat and a DVD player.
Sun Room – This bright room adjoins the sitting room and provides an outlook over the loch and the village that is hard to beat. It is furnished with an extending oak dining table and chairs and a comfortable sofa to sit back in and enjoy the views from.
Kitchen – The kitchen is fully modernised and is equipped with everything you need to make you feel at home, including a cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, iron and ironing board, as well a full range of crockery and utensils.
Family Bathroom – There is a white bathroom suite with a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail. Towels supplied.

 

On the first floor there are three bright and generous bedrooms:

Double Bedroom (front) – This bedroom has lovely outlook over the loch and village. The double bed and bedside tables are oak and there is a built in wardrobe.
Double Bedroom (back) – This room looks onto the rear garden. The double bed and bedside tables are oak there is a built in cupboard for your clothes.
Twin Bedroom (back) – This room looks onto the rear garden. The two single beds and chest of drawers are oak and there is also a built in cupboard.
NB Central heating throughout the property and hot water are provided from an oil fired external combi boiler.
Garden – There is garden space to the front, side and rear of the property with a decked area, outdoor seating and a drying green.

 

On-street parking is available to the side of the house and there is an area within the garden.

 

We regret that we cannot accommodate pets and smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the property.

 

All electricity and heating is included in your rental.

 

Bedding and towels are provided, but guests should bring their own beach towels.

Short Breaks

Short Breaks are available in Low Season with a minimum stay of 3 nights, at a cost of £125 per night. The exception is the Christmas – New Year holiday period, which has a minimum rental period of 4 nights. Please contact us for details.

 

NB. All prices include electricity, heating, bedding and towels (not beach towels).

Booking Terms

Bookings for An Grianan self catering Islay are weekly from Saturday to Saturday. The accommodation will be available to guests from 3.30 pm on the date of arrival. Guests should depart the property by 09.30 am on the day of departure to allow sufficient time to prepare for incoming guests

 

A non-refundable deposit of £150/week is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due to be paid in full 8 weeks before arrival. For bookings made within 8 weeks of the arrival date, full payment is required at the time booking.

 

Please note that cancellations within 8 weeks of arrival will not be refunded unless we can re-let. By making a booking for our property, you agree to these conditions.

You are asked to leave the house in the same condition as you find it and notify any breakages.

 

All bed linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. For guests staying for 2 weeks, additional bed linen can be provided on request should you wish to change it at the end of the first week.

 

We regret that we cannot accommodate pets and smoking is not allowed anywhere within the property.

 

Vehicles/Personal Property – We advise guests to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects. Vehicles and personal property are left at their owner’s risk.
