Rosgorm Self Catering Islay

Rosgorm Self Catering Islay is a fully renovated traditional cottage providing luxurious 5* holiday accommodation for up to 6 people in the heart of the village of Port Charlotte, just a few minutes’ walk from all local amenities and the safe, sandy village beaches.

The house has underfloor heating throughout and is fully insulated to ensure a cosy home whatever the weather. The interior is tiled throughout on the ground floor and fully carpeted on the first floor.

Entrance Hall

There is a spacious entrance hall with door to a cloakroom with toilet and wash basin, plenty of hanging space for coats and a rack for shoes and boots.

Kitchen

The entrance hall leads into a large open plan kitchen dining room with a high spec modern fitted kitchen and a table seating 6 people comfortably. The kitchen has all Neff appliances including induction hob, multifunction oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee machine and a quooker boiling water tap.

Garden Room

Three steps lead down from the kitchen into the garden room which has a sofa/day bed, a wall mounted smart TV connected to the internet and glass sliding doors leading onto the garden and patio. There is also a door to the utility area housing a washing machine, tumble dryer and drying room.

Bedrooms

Upstairs has three double bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a king size bed and ensuite shower room. All have plenty of drawer and hanging space, beds with high quality pocket sprung mattresses and pure cotton bed linen. The two bedrooms with rear windows have stunning views over Loch Indaal and the hills beyond.

Bathrooms

There is a family bathroom on the first floor with bath and thermostatic over bath shower, an ensuite wet room to the master bedroom with aqualisa thermostatic shower and a cloakroom downstairs with toilet and basin.

Rosgorm Self Catering Islay Location

Rosgorm Self Catering Islay is in Port Charlotte which is a pretty conservation village of whitewashed Victorian cottages originally built to provide accommodation for the local distillery workers. The village has a tranquil location on the shores of Loch Indaal with its white sandy beaches and sheltered waters.

It is perfectly located for the many attractions Islay has to offer including tours of the 8 local distilleries, bird and wild life watching, walking and cycling trails, pony trekking, island hopping to Jura or Colonsay, stunning deserted beaches stretching for miles, a world class links golf course and many ancient historical sites.

There are three excellent restaurants in the village: the award winning Port Charlotte Hotel with its fine dining restaurant and a cosy bar with over 200 Islay whiskies on offer; the Loch Indaal Hotel, with locally sourced seafood and reasonably priced pub menu; Yan’s Kitchen for seafood and dishes using locally sourced produce. Both hotels regularly have live traditional music playing.

Local amenities include a well-stocked village shop with post office and fuel pump, bicycle hire, the Museum of Islay Life and the Islay Wildlife Centre.

Booking Rosgorm Self Catering Islay

Rosgorm Cottage Islay is our family holiday home but when we are not staying there we are very happy to make it available to guests all year round. The cottage is usually available for weekly rental from Saturday to Saturday, but we can be flexible about start dates, especially outside of the high season. We are also happy to accommodate shorter stays, particularly in low season or with late availability, so please contact us to check.

The tariff includes bedding, towels and electricity.

Rosgorm is a no-smoking property and unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.

Parking is available in the road in front of the house.
